Lockdown 2020. Florida, USA. Churches are open but social distancing has changed worship forever. A small but vocal group of fundamentalists think it’s a hoax.
One pastor is about to discover the consequences.

ESSENTIAL BUSINESS is one of 20 digital mini-operas created for #OPERAHARMONY during 2020 lockdown. The project brought together teams of international directors, composers, librettists and performers to collaborate remotely on new digital music works, at a time when working together in person was not possible.

The #OPERAHARMONY series was conceived by Ella Marchment and hosted online by OperaVision. ESSENTIAL BUSINESS was voted the winning opera in a public vote and awarded a prize funded by the Rolf Liebermann Fund.
